My S&W 642-1 is with me almost every day, so here are the five
holsters I chose to keep for that purpose.

First, on the left, again from the generosity of turnerriver, is this
little black speed scabbard by Chic Gaylord. It's a perfect fit, and
very fast. (It's also in Holstory)

2nd is this shark skin pancake, made by Rudy Lazano of Black
Hills Leather in Loredo. The shark belt is by Crescent, the knife
is a Piranha, and the hat is by Barsolino.

3rd I like the style of this Safariland model 16 basketweave,
on a James belt. Hat is my souvenir of my year at the NSA.

4th I very rarely go with an IWB, but when I do, I go
in style with this shark mouth band by Delfatti. The knife is
a Junkyard Dog II.

5th Last, but not least, if I am going to be driving for any extended
amount of time I will be wearing this VAM, short
for Vampire, made by Ken Null. (Originally made by Seventrees)

petepeterson - No, I never pocket carry. It's a little bit slow on the draw,
or maybe it's just me. I never ankle carry either, and no small of back
carry. I just like on the belt about 3 or 4 O'Clock.

Interesting set of Holsters! Especially that Horizontal Carry.
And I noticed that lots of folks claim to have Jesse James’ Revolver, you have his belt.

Much better to park the 642, and get a G19 or M&P9C. Multiple gangstas, active shooter, flash mob? 642 runs out of ammo in 3 seconds. Get some dummy rounds and try reloading with speed strips or a speed loader while running desperately for cover. It's 2021.

Let's see, Boise has a population 1/10 of where I live. Much less urban drama. You might be able to get away with a 642. I still like the G19 better. 16 rounds, and 17 more in a magazine reload.

This is all you post. On repeat.

Tell us your real life story how many shots you have fired in self defense let alone had to reload and how if you had a j frame you would have been dead.

Nice holsters Phil!

I'm with you on all of the other methods, but pocket is where the centennials shine! No need for speed, because you can have your hand on it without tipping anyone off.
I said I would never pocket carry other than in my jammies, but over the last few years, it seems to happen more and more.
Just sayin'...

I agree. A 642/442 in a Mika in my pocket is my usual carry. Not perfect when sitting but so easy to carry that way and because of that it’s always there.

You really need to ditch that G19 and get a belt fed gun. Have you seen the size of the flash mobs recently?
It’s almost 2022. Better get with the times.

What about herds of water buffalo, flock of pterodactyl, or zombie hoards?

You left those out.

That's why I now EDC an A-10 Warthog . I'll admit I have to OWB carry, but you can never be too careful.

Start talking about revolvers and their holsters and some one always jumps in with, "You need to carry a Glock, etc!" For the Glocksketeers out there, I was the last revolver toter in my agency until I retired as a Captain. My officers carried Gock 22s. I carried a 4" S&W 686-6 on my duty belt with a pocket holstered 2" S&W Model 12-2 on my weak side. None of my officers ever outshot me at qualification, and subjects who were not impressed by .40S&W Combat Tupperware reacted quite differently to a good-sized stainless steel revolver.

We carry what we are confident will do the job we need it to do. You're welcome to do the same. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Sent with some arcane communications device.

It is so easy to just stick my little 642 (car gun with a crimson Trace laser) in my pocket while getting out of the car to make a quick trip to the store.
I mostly carry my S & W 40 cal. Shield with a good DeSantis belt holster. But Sometimes I carry both.

i swithed as well

I have been carrying revolvers for as long as I can remember... till I ran into a BLM mob in Arlington and again in my growing town of Mansfield TX.
