My 1860 Army Model is another replica that does duty strictly as
a wall hanger, but it needs holsters to show off too. Here are the
five I kept.

At left, is a Buscadero rig made by Hunter. Kind of a tribute to
Have Gun Will Travel. I put the silver knight on it way back when
I thought I was Paladin. The knife is a Case. The hat is an old
holy Resistol.

2nd, is a Civil War U.S. Army flap holster, which is appropriate
for the 1860 Army Model. The hat is a Union Officer's model.
The little Bowie is what the Union Officer might have carried.

3rd, is the Missouri Skin Tight that I made when I read Chic
Gaylord's book. It convinced me that I should not make holsters.
The Haugen gunbelt and Puma Prince knife makes the rig look
almost presentable.

4th, is a Kansas Single Loop Model on a Cowtown cartridge belt.
The knife is a Bear.

5th, is a distressed looking Slim Jim holster, Haugen gunbelt
again, and a Schrade knife. The hat is an authentic Greek
Fisherman's hat, made in Greece, that I picked up when on a
trip to San Francisco. Holster was made by Big Texas.

I like the texture of the 5th one. The only one I have is this slim jim I made over 25 years ago for my John Gren conversion. My 1851 Navy and 1860s fit perfect in it, too. This gun is .44 Special black powder only.

Any idea if the issue holsters were different between the Remington 1858 and the Colt 1860? I have an original 1858 Remington that an ancestor carried. I have his sabre as well, but no leather items.

Onomea - That Resistol straw hat was a birthday gift from my wife and
daughter sixty something years ago, so yes it has been around the block
a few times.
