Ones black and ones silver. Just kidding.

The steel parts on the 442 are carbon steel, and it has an overall black finish.

The steel parts on the 642 are stainless and it has an overall brushed stainless look. The anodized parts are finished to look stainless.

I believe on the M442 the cylinder is carbon steel and the barrel is stainless steel (the best of both worlds IMHO). I preferred a subdued finish on my self-defense firearms so I went with the M442-2 (No Lock). There’s just nothing to not like about that little revolver.

I think the "pro" series are moon clip ready. I didn't know that when i got my 442.
