645 issues

A friend sent home a 645 with me from deer camp this weekend. He said the gun was given to him from his boss after falling off the back of a truck. It has obvious road rash and a broken rear sight but the main issue is the hammer will not cock back to be fired single action but it will fire and cycle fine double action only. I'm hoping to tear into it tonight, looking for pointers where to check first. I field stripped it last night and didn't find any obviously broken parts so I'm open to suggestions.

The 645 is Da/Sa. You should be able to cock it.

sear, flat sear spring or both?? would look at those and how they engage. if they still do. good luck friend.

Remove the grip panels and backstrap insert to check for a broken sear spring.
