645 Jammed on reassembly

I use to use my rubber mallet to disassemble furniture so I could clean up the joints and glue the parts.

Then I discovered it was a good tool for gunsmithing when it was needed.

If you want to work on firearms buy a good set of punches, a brass hammer, and the proper screwdrivers or bits.

That will get one started down the right path of do no harm.

Thanks Bruce,

The safety.

The old one with the screw would NOT stay tight no matter what kind or amount of Loc-Tite nor Super Glue was applied. That was a fairly minor irritation on an other wise fine old pistol.

I just love all the old S&Ws; Pistols as well as the revolvers.

Nice upgrade. I used five minute epoxy on mine when nothing else worked.

It is still tight and I'll have to use a little heat when I need to get the screw out.
