After looking for the past couple years to replace the one lost in the fire I finally located one in a pawn shop. Marked $899.99 and won't even discuss the price until the manager returns after the holidays.
The high price of 645's is the reason why I own a 21 year old SIG 220. about 85% 4 mags total, holster, box, papers. I'm the second owner $450. Oh also a 1917 Army (Smith and Wesson and I have the S&W letter it was delivered to Springfield Armory in 1918) no finish but shoots like a dream. Maybe one day I'll find one.
Patience, young Jedi. At that price, this is not the light sabre you seek...
Hopefully the post-holiday slump will make the shop owner more agreeable to negotiate.

I passed on one about a year ago at $450 and one more recently priced at $550,
There is one in the FS forum with box n docs right now for $650 that just relisted.
The older Smith auto are going up and up . I found a nice clean 645 for 399 with 2 mags no box. I jumped on it . Even 459 and a nice 4006 are going high they don't make em that way anymore.
The 645 is a lot of gun for the money. I wouldn't take $1500 for mine that I bought new, 379.00 out the door. That was a few years ago, but keep looking and you will find the right one. Best of luck and merry x-mas.
$899 is pretty steep even though it is a nice 45. I thought I saw one for sale here in the classifieds a while ago, maybe 6-8 months, [poor memory here]. I do remember the price was around $475-$500. I think I would keep looking or see if the store manager changes the price.
I was in another shop that had a 1026 also marked $899. Was able to trade him out of it. I had about $650 in the stuff he accepted. He believed he could sell mine faster than the 10mm oddball. I'll round up some trade goods after the first and go see if A deal can be had. I'm optimistic it will still be there at that price.
I'll look into the one in the classified also. The problem is since our LGS closed down the next nearest place to have it shipped to is 40 miles away and they charge $60 for the service.
I will never get rid of mine, got it several years ago and possibly a LEO trade. Slide a little scuffed and the right side grip beat up pretty bad like it had been carried a lot. $250, some scotch brite and new cocobolo grips and it is gorgeous. Jim.
