I recently got one but haven't shot it at that distance yet.

My second cylinder full from the bench did make a bunch of little holes about the size of a quarter at 25 yards though....

I'm looking for a suitable scope.

It seems to be easily as accurate as a m17 8 3/8" at similar distances, but haven't got into full test mode yet.

I own one, but haven't shot it at that distance....yet. It is pretty accurate at 25 yards. I have heard, from Mr. Jinks personally, that Smith had trouble with making the barrels uniform, making some guns more accurate then others.

If you do enough searching on the forum the issue of accuracy usually comes up as being a 'problem'!
Many that have responded are quite satisfied with their accuracy results so its likely a crap shoot as to how well the individual revolver will do.
I just installed a red dot but have not had a chance to evaluate mine.
Allegedly, the Perf Center models with the long barrel are quite accurate.

Actually Ive shot mine quite a bit and it may be the most accurate revolver I own. At 50 yds (with scope) it will shoot one inch groups consistently. I've never had a issue with this gun or its accuracy.

I have one also I picked up last spring and I have only shot it one time and off hand it was shooting under 2inches @ 25yds. Its a heavy bugger off hand and it probably didn't help that I was also shooting my Model 18 at the same time. Try different ammo cause they are like all rimfires " ammo sensitive" I had a Sako that didn't do well with the Hornaday ammo but shot the Federal TNT ammo into real nice tiny groups..

That's a really expensive crap shoot. I like the thought of owning all 4 frame sizes in 8-3/8 magnum. .17, .357, .44, 460. I currently have the 357 and 460.

Duckloads, If you have a chance to buy one at a good price id do it. If you shoot it and dont like it, you can always sell it. You dont see many of these for sell and there wasnt many of them made. Alot of people are looking for these guns if for nothing else as part of a collection. Hope this helps.

I asked Mr. Jinks how many he thought were made, and they were only made for a little over a year. He wasn't quite sure, but he thought it was most likely no more then 2,000.

Like Mule88 says, if you want one and see one, you'd better buy it. Not many show up for sale.

This is truth.

I bought one last year, shot it for a while, and decided it wasn't my flavor. It's now in m657's hands. :)
