Did S&W make a 648 22 mag in a 4 inch configuration? I can only find 6" version.

I've never seen one in person or offered for sale on the web, so I don't think so. While shorter barrels are handy, the .22 Mag really needs some barrel length to burn in before it becomes much more effective than .22 LR. I had a 4 inch Model 48 and all I got from it over my 6 incher was a modicum of handiness and a lot more noise, of which the M-48 makes in all barrel lengths.
