Can anyone tell me the date my Model 649 no dash Serial # BBA3096 was made

Looks like 1988, according to the Standard Catalog of S&W 4th ed.

S&W and the "book" can be frustrating. Being the 649-1 came out sometime in 1988, I'd also say 1988 is likely the year for the subject Mod. 649 (no dash).

That’s a nice looking 649, I have the same model as yours with mine have Serial # BBA3103, just 7 Serial # later!
