I'm not the most experienced S&W guy so may I ask a question. I've seen this gun advertised as a model 65, but I though that was fixed sight only... plus never seen the front sigh pinned so. Is it a 65?

Cheers

Looks like a 67.............. wait its marked .357magnum..................hummmmmmmmmmmmm????????

Special police order......... could be marked as a 65 due to the lack of half underlug on the barrel of the 66?????
Strange front sight? or just the picture?

The rear sight doesn't look like it was made for that gun. The leading edge of the sight extends out too far and the front screw appears to be farther forward than most.

Yes, someone has taken a early model 65 (-1 or 2, with pinned barrel) and milled the top strap to add a factory adjustable rear sight and the barrel for a (non-factory) front blade. A model 66 would have the "half-lug" or shrouded extractor rod.

Have you seen the movie Dunkirk yet? Your Forum name suggests you might have :).
