Not sure what kind of help you’re looking for, but if you’re asking whether or not you should buy that the answer is “YES”. My first and only .41 Magnum is a model 57-2 with 6 inch barrel, and it is a fantastic hand cannon. I’d love to have a short barrel version like that one. If you haven’t owned/fired a .41 Magnum, you’re missing out.

Thank You... That's the animal.... I have one of the other 657 3" ANN serial range guns but this is alot different.

Smith & Wesson 657 No Dash & 657-4 Lew Horton

The 657-4 was among the Lew Horton Quartet Collector's Series of 3" N Frames. A few of us here have collected this series. The 6 digit SKU identifying the specific model. The 657-4 being the mim gun. I like them both but prefer shooting the earlier, no dash.

If you can get that one for a reasonable price I hope you bought it...as said there were only 150 of them and it is a real LH limited...

Almost everyone calls the original 657 (no-) 3" a LH gun because they originated the style with the 24 Combat Special...but there was over 5500 of them made and were not a LH exclusive...they were a Stocking Dealer Special...

Congratulations again on your find...and with loads that equal the original POLICE loading of a 210 grain lead bullet at 950 fps (from a 4" gun) are quite pleasant to shoot. I have had several of the original 3" guns and they are great shooters with the right loads...

Bob

ps...these will bring $2k plus on a good day on the auction sites...a standard 3" no- brings $1500+ daily...

Thanks for the Great information. I also have a 657 no- and really enjoy shooting it. When I came across the 657-4 I had never seen that style and options before so it did go home with me. Thanks again for the information.
