My lgs gass a 657 mountain gun that someone has replaced the grips with a set of S&W combat grips... The grips are in good shape... I am hesitating on the gun.. I have 2 model 58's and love the 41mag.... just not sure of the price they have on tis one...OTD around $750.... Will not do any better...

It is marked Mountain Gun on the barrel

what do you think?

That is actually a good price. The combat grips alone are worth $100-$150. I've been watching Gun Broker, and they are selling for $800-$1,000 with the Hogue mono-grips. One sold last year here on the forum in about an hour for $850. If it is in good shape, that is a good price.

Go back and buy it before someone else gets it.

OK... i guess I should not have left without it.... I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow.... thank you for the input.

If you end up with buyer's remorse, let me know!

Hope you were able to get it....the last three on GunBroker in the last month were $860, $995 and $1100....

...and if those are the "real" Combats that came on the 1986 657 Combat Special in "good" condition they start at $250 and work up....

I recently had an opportunity to trade my 57-0 for a 657 Mountain Gun but, passed simply because it and all MGs are round butt. Guess I'm too old school?
