What's the going rate for one of these 66-2 3" with S&W combat grips? In excellent condition

sell something else to help pay for it if you need to.

sell the combats here on the forum if you need to.
($200 plus or minus)

just get that revolver!

you may not see another one available to you for a long time.

Do it ...... a 3" 66 has been my carry revolver since about 1988.

Sell the "combats" as suggested ...... and get a set of Spegel Boot Grips....$60 and up

Oh ya....... my 66-3s cost me $270 out the door with an action job.....

Sorry could not help myself.....LOL every time I see these threads I feel so lucky.... in the late 80s they couldn't give these guns away ..... because they didn't have a 15 round magazine!!!!!!!

No it's not in Roanoke but I should have it by 7 pm tonight. Here is the pic I was sent. I believe it has the box also.

Yep that's a 3 incher. Definitely a killer deal. Congrats.

Eric

Yowza -- that's the real deal.

Almost too good to be true. Stay safe if this is a FTF with a stranger.

Beautiful gun. Awesome find. Those grips should easily get you $200+ back if you want to help recoup some of cash.

WOW! That's a deal. Karma is on your side, my friend.

Thank you for your service.

All right boys here she is. It came with 150 rds of ammo 2 speed loaders and extra good years. I can't wait to shoot it. It came from an accountant who was selling it for a client. He just wanted what he had in it.

If he was my accountant I'd fire him... :p

The 3" 66-2 was a special 1985 run of about 5000 for Ashland Shooting Supplies (no longer in business). Not extremely rare but as you can tell demand outstrips supply, so prices are high.

Consensus of threads/posts I've seen over the years put 3" 66s at about 5000-6000 from -2s to -4s about the same numbers as Pre-War Registered and Non-registered magnums.

My 66-2 .357

I have one also from Ashland around 1985....... Great Gun!!

More than likely; there are other 3" 66s but this prefix puts it in 1985. Someone could have swapped the 3" barrel onto a 2.5" (RB) 66-2 however.

Thanks for the info, wasn't sure on her. Right at 1000 on it. Got kind of excited when I seen it. Don't want to make a foolish purchase...lol

Well I took it out today and man is it nice. I only put some cheap 38 ball through it today. I have a box of bullets that came with it they are 38+P 110 grain but there is a blaze orange sticker on the box that says do not shoot in anything but a .357. I know you can't use the 120 grain .357 magnum but what would this be considered?
