Thanks for all your help. This was a local pawnshop find, $400. OTD/tax title and license. No box or papers, and other than the hideous (! IMO) Hogue grip, I think I did well.

Naturally, a call to Milt Sparks was in order, another horse/shark VM2 is in the works. Kim Ahrends is next on my "must call list".


Very faint turn line on the cylinder, no flame cutting on the topstrap, whatsoever. I'm thinking the previous owner fired this one very little.

After reading about all the pawn shop finds (which I'd never even considered before)I stopped by the big pawn dealer up here on Sheldon St. (Pawn Palace). This was the only S&W he had, I was actually looking for a .45ACP or .45 Colt.

Super nice guy, actually better than most of the gun shop dealers up here!
