66 no dash

I just looked at a mdl 66, no dash, 4", factory targets, looks very good, not been shot much, no top strap cuts, recoil shield is very clean. Gun has a timing issue as bolt stop needs to be adjusted. The store wants $525.

I told the fella that that price is a little high, and the gun needs some work. I'm thinking $400 or so. No box, no papers. Nice clean gun.

What do the members think? How cool are 66 no dashes, compared to just a regular 66?

A 66 no dash is as cool as it gets especially when it's an early one with all stainless sights. A gunsmith playing with it's timing is going to cost a few pennies, $400 seems fair, if it has stainless sights even fairer.

$400 would be a real good price for a no dash. Do you think the GS will come down $125? Seems like a lot, good luck!

If you could provide info like a partial serial number and tell us if the sights are stainless or not that would be helpful.

As sheepdog stated an early all stainless 66 is as cool as it gets in that particular model. Either way with either sight configuration the no-dash is a much sought after model in our area and even the $525 being asked is a good buy, if it is clean, tight and well maintained.

Because of the timing issue that will need to be addressed, I think that you are perfectly on the money - $400 bucks would be the TOP offer I would give. It's probably going to cost you at least $100 bucks to fix the timing. If you paid anymore you would be better off just looking for another gun of he same type.

Yeah, it don't get cooler than this, also a 2K gun. And as with every 66 no dash a superb trigger.

My gunsmith/reloading guru Stoney could do the timing for $50-$75. The rear sights are blue. I'm going to offer $400 and walk if he won't dance. I will post the Pawn Shop if any are interested. It's in Redmond, Oregon.

I'd say you'd be doing good and as cool as all stainless sights on my early 66 are, my 66 with blued sights and red ramp is far easier to hit the target with. There's still a few 66 no dash and - 1s out there but one thing's for sure, 66's aren't going to get any cheaper.
