I was under the impression that 67s were all stainless, including a serrated stainless front and stainless rear (until seeing a 67 on gbroker with a red front sight)?
My gun is marked MOD. 67, with all blue rear and red front, 6k serial; it's not a -1?

Not all 67 no dashes had stainless sights. What’s more, many who had stainless sight changed out the entire rear sight or just the blade and installed red inserts on the front sight so they could see em better.
It took me all of five minutes to remove the rear sight, and that's what got me thinking that it might not be original, and that the no-dash marking on the frame was to be believed. Thanks!

My 67 no dash from 1973 has all stainless sights. Never bothered me. Did put some paint on the top of the front sight as many did. (been there for years) Bob

You used to be able to buy blackened stainless rear sights to replace the shiny ones (or the blued ones on blued revolvers). They could be found on blue S&W shrink wrapped cards on the hooks at your local sporting goods store. Man, I'm old.
