I don't know about your gun but I have done one on a s&w model 64-5 that had a floating hand with a three inch barrel, but I replaced the trigger with a non floating hand and it works fine. I don't know if you can just replace the hand.

Yes. There are only 2 style hands (until MIM), you need the "other one". And then you need to know how to fit it!. You may need an over-size hand.
Some guns will work fine with a change to the not floating hand of the same size, and some are just a pain to get to run right. Those are not a simple plug and play and patience is required to get properly timed.
