681 Front Sight Replacement Help

I am picking up my new 3" 681 PC tomorrow and I could use a little help with the front sight. I am planning on putting an XS Big Dot on it. I found the model that is supposed to fit but I recall reading somewhere that the hole for the pin is a little small and needs to be opened up a little. Has anyone replaced theirs and had to do this?

I ask because I was planning on doing the job myself but if it is more complex than just tapping the pin out, drifting out the blade and replacing it with the new sight, then putting the pin back in, I'll have to send her out.

Is the replacement blade already drilled? Probably not in all likelihood. You'll probably need a drill press and the correct bit.

Well I picked up the 681 PC and was surprised to find that it has a 3/8" dovetail already cut. Now I do not know which XS Big Dot model will work. I emailed the manufacturer and am awaiting a response.
