Just picked this up.

What does the "s, sb, rr, wo" on the box mean?

What are the numbered stickers on the grip for?

This is an M marked 686-1.

It looks pretty clean.

Stainless, Square Butt, Red Ramp, White Outline


s, sb, rr, wo

RR = red ramp (front sight), WO = white outline (rear sight), s = stainless finish, SB would be square butt (as opposed to round butt grip). Stickers probably an inspectors mark. Enjoy!

That is a beauty. 86 was a very good year! When you shoot that thing you are gonna love it, smooth as silk and more accurate than I can shoot.

1986 stamped on the Goncalo Alves Target stocks but the date S&W assigned to this revolver is October 5th, 1987.

It looks great!
