686 2 1/2"

Picked up a new 2 1/2 686-6 .357 yesterday. I carry a .45 auto most of the time,but I still have a soft spot for wheelguns. I have never had a 2 1/2 incher before and wasn't sure how it would shoot compared to my 4". Well I went to the Range to qualify with it for off-duty carry and scored 493 out of 500 possible. I only put 7 in the 9 ring of the B-27 at 15 yards and those were my fault. At 49 my eyes aren't what they used to be. Front sight seems to get fuzzier each year!LOL Anyhow,I guess what I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is I really like this Gun and will be carrying it on a regular basis. And in case anyone is wondering,I don't find the "L" frame to big or heavy for concealment...Joe

I don't think the L frame is too big either. I use to carry on and off duty a 610 4" so the L would be small and light to me. Good choice on the 686 it's always been my favorite 357.

I've had a 686 2.5 inch gun for a little over a year, and it is a wonderful gun for shooting. It is a big gun, however, and you have to be motivated to carry it. I have one holster that fits it.

I have one too and love it. Mines a 7 shot pre lock gun. I think I got a great deal on mine, and considering what 686's were going for at the gun show yesterday I know I did. Saw one 686 2.5" 6 shot no lock for $775 and several 686 4" & 6" for $700 and up. Paid $500 OTD for mine including the Buck Kalinnga Pro in Feb.
