686 3inch

Is anyone else having a hard time finding a 3 inch 686? Really want one and only person that can get one is one of the local dealers that spiked the price and only knows guns based on YouTube.

They are tough to locate. I looked for one for quite a while and then found one when I was looking for something else. In the local gun store, that gets LE guns from several manufacturers, there it was sitting next to a bunch of Glocks and M&Ps. Of course the gun I was looking for at the time was there too.... You can guess which one I bought.


Keep looking and you'll find one eventually. They show up on the auction sites occasionally, for a reasonable price....

Here is a nice gun, a 66-4 3 inch barrel, somewhat hard to find... Gun in excellent condition with original grips plus a nice set of checkered target stocks. The stocks have a tiny crack at top of left panel, but are otherwise like new. No box or docs. $1275 includes shipping to conus. Please post "I will take it" then send PM...

A quick check of Gun Broker shows 2 of the 3" Talo models, both at $1100.00 Buy It Now. And yes I agree, they are very hard to find and command a premium when you do. I love mine, it shoots great. Good luck.

What are you referring to prelock 3 inch 686 yes they are very hard to come by. If you are referring to newer lock 686 3 inch I have seen a ton. There was just one that sold around 600.00 on gunbroker couple weeks back. They are out there and majority of them are under 700.00 1100 is nuts for a lock version.

I bought a new 3 inch 686-6 plus TALO from Skagit Arms, just across the River from you, earlier this year. I could not find the smallest flaw with the gun It was $739, which is a little less than I expected to pay for that model. Since I like grips that don't extend below the grip frame on snubs, I put Ahrend's 2 finger grove Boot grips on it. I guess that negates the point of the TALO version. Unless, as some believe, that TALO models get an extra inspection before they are offered to the public. The dealer didn't seem to think that the revolver was a TALO version. I checked the model number when I got home, and it was.

Most 3 inch revolvers are in high demand. Doesn't matter if K, L, or N frame, or S&W or Ruger. They usually don't last long in gun shops due to their conceal factor. They are out there but you have to grab them up when you see them.

even the 4" 686plus are getting hard to find.
