I’m new here & got a new to me 686-4 for my birthday. It came in a blue plastic box & no paperwork. The S# is CBT6XXX. Under stock it says SB. I just got around to removing the Hogue grips on it. What a surprise it’s a round butt. Is this normal? Where can I get nice round butt stocks? Thanks

My 686-5, which I bought new, had those ugly hogue grips on it. I opted for round to square conversion grips. Custom made to look just like early 60's coke bottle style factory grips.

As mentioned, you may want conversation stocks if it is a 4 or 6 inch. I like round butt for snubs, square for longer barrels. Enjoy.

1stgensmith39-2 where did you find your grips? I like the original style of them. To me, the Hogues aren’t too eye appealing. BTW, that’s a beautiful 686 you have.

My 686-4 round butt that I've owned for many years, has worn these Altamont combats for several years.
