686-6 gas ring

I have a 686-6 and according to the latest schematic I can find ( 686-5) there is a part called a gas ring on the ejector assembly. I don't see this part on my 686-6, am I missing this part or did Smith make a change?

The gas ring is pressed into the cylinder. If you remove the cylinder you will find a raised "collar" around the center hole, that's the gas ring. It doesn't come out!

Thanks for that info. Not too many people must know that, including someone at S & W that I had asked.
The 686-5 schematic is misleading. I won't have to worry anymore that it was missing.
