686-6 Price Check & Info Needed

I found a used 686-6, 7 round, 6" with S&W wood grips plus the original rubber grips & box, said to have 2 rounds fired. Asking $850, is this a fair price.
Any info regarding this model would be appreciated.

Bit high for my taste. Thats full MSRP. You can usually get one at a shop in the real world for less... So you would be paying new MSRP for used (even if slightly), not getting warrantee, but getting a set of $70 grips.

I would pass unless he came down about $100.


For that price or very close to it, you can buy new yourself and have the warrantee.

Too high in my opinion. I just bought a new one for $720 plus tax.

Thats exactly the price I paid for a 6" 686-6, 6 shot at my LGS in 2010. Minus the Altamont grips

Take a look in the classifieds. Saw a 4" tonight for a lot less.

Probably fair, considering what the added grips would have cost.
