686-7 .38 Super....

..the one on GunBroker the other day went for over $1800....

Here are few more picks of mine...

Had a FO front blade on one and a SDM gold bead on the other...ended up going two FO as they were just much easier to see...

Got the 686s out and both 9mm and 9x23 drop nicely in.

Emailed master pistolsmith Dane Burns of Burns Custom as he has done a lot of 9x23 1911 and revolver conversions...even on Js. He said the 686 should be fine to run with 9x23...

As to shooting Supers in a .357 revolver... Pulled out a 649 .38 Special and a 60-10 .357 Magnum. Tried several different brands but the only ones that will go into the chambers are two from Winchester, the Silvertip and whitebox 130 ball.

Although I have shot a few rounds of Super from a Model 36 and I think a Model 19 I would not recommend doing so. The headspace, because of the narrow rim of the Super, leaves a BIG gap between the base of the case and the recoil shield. When the round goes off it is going to be slamming back into the recoil shield and could cause a pierced primer... Will it work...yes, is it advisable...no.
