Anybody know what the -8 change is on a 686+ and when it was made??????

AFAIK the -6 is as far as M686 engineering changes go.

Do you mean the blued "L" frame, the 568? It is at revision 8.

If S&W ever did make a M686-7 it would probably be to introduce the two-piece barrel to that model. But, AFAIK they haven't made a Distinguished Combat Magnum, yet, with a new two-piece barrel treatment.

I wouldn't be surprise to see it happen one day, though.

Sorry...I checked the box and it is a -6. It sure look's like an 8 on gun though.
