Long story short, I had to sell all my smiths last year due to financial issues. Now I’m starting over. I’ve gotten a start with a 629-4 4” and my first post lock ever 625PC, I have others in mind but when it comes to 357s there are a few models I’ve owned 19-3 nickel 2.5” and 28-2 4” . I love N Frames and RB the best but Im reserving that spot for another pre or m27 no dash 3.5” and a 627 no dash RB unfluted cylinder rarity.
Now I’ve never had a 686 but hearing how great and loved they are so I want a 3 or 4” RB what variations of pre lock guns were RB 4”?? I love RB for the feel in my hands and grip cosmetics plus I can always use a conversion grip if desired.
Thanks Jim

Hogue makes...

Hogue makes a monogrip round butt grip.

I've used them on other guns, they are good. The Pachmehrs I have a good, too. I suppose it's the soft material that makes that one so cheesy.

686 is a great gun no matter what kind of grip you like. You won't go wrong with one.

I believe most 686-4 guns are round butt in all available barrel lengths. The -4 is also considered by many to be the best before going to MIM parts in the -5. The -4 is also were they started making 7 shot versions.
