686 Hogue Grip Question

Which Hogue's come on the current new model 686?

Rubber Grips -
K/L Round Hogue Monogrip (No Logo)

Rubber Grips -
Hogue K/L Round (With Logo) Square Conversion

What is square conversion? Is it trying to make the round frame feel like a square frame gun? Tapering the grip a bit?

I want to order these of the S&W sight, but I keep running into some choices...

The round square conversion monogrips come stock. They come to more of a point at the bottom rear. The non-conversion monogrip is rounded at the bottom rear. Either fit the round butt K/L frames.

Actually, I believe it depends on what BARREL LENGTH the 686 has. Seems to me that some of the Short-barreled 686's come with Hogue "Bantam" Grips, and some come with the "Uncle Mike's" Combat-type grips. I could be wrong--just ask my Ex-Wife. Paulie686.
