I had holsters made for my 4 inch 586 and 686. Cost 60 bucks from a local semi retired holster maker. Maybe inquire around for local leather workers at the area gun stores?
Here's a 7-shot 686 Mountain Gun in a Bianchi 111 Cyclone for carrying while I am hunting in thick woods. I haven't carried it in the field, yet, but it fits nice and snug and the trigger is well covered.
It's a 3" and probably IWB. I use Remora IWB for my polymer guns, but there's something about a stainless revolver in leather that just looks right. I know nothing about leather holsters, so any advice is appreciated!
I'm a big fan of the Wild Bill's Concealment Covert Carry.
It's well made, stays open inside the waistband with the revolver removed, is a touchable design, and the offset clip keeps the profile thin, and helps keep the butt tucked in close to your hip.
They come in a natural finish, but take on a nice tan color with some use, and there's no issues with dye transfer and no need to wax it.
