686 (no dash) BOX question

The very early 686s came in two piece dark blue cardboard boxes. Soon afterward they were shipped in one piece dark blue boxes with "Revolver" in white on the top.
Not 686 but these "AAA" prefix 581/586 came in two-piece blue box. My first 686, a 6" w/ right side logo, came in a two-piece box. AhhhhYup! Shoulda kept that one too,,,,,

My no dash was the same as PMRet's pictured.
Hittman, here's the early box I have for a 686 that we talked about offline. Just so you have an idea.

Only the very earliest came in the two-piece box. In my travels, if you have a 686 early enough for the two-piece box, it also has the large emblem on the side plate.
I have not seen a no-dash 686 with it's original box & end label without those two together. If your no-dash 686 has a bare side plate, you are likely looking for the one-piece flip top REVOLVER REVOLVER REVOLVER box if you want the correct one.
Of course, with S&W… never say never.
