686 no dash

I am looking at a 6 inch 686 here in my town that is for sale. It is no dash and serial number starts with AJV

Would this be 1986? That would be my sons birth year.

It appears to be in nice shape but has no box, only the pistol.

What is fair value?

I had a tack driver 686-3. Wanted something else and no money so traded it for a $700 value. My 586 no dash is from 1983 4" , so older than yours. I would want more than that to part with it. 4" are more popular than 6" in many cases. Bob

I second the vote for $700 ($600-$800)! A new one at your LGS will cost $900+! They are great shooters!

That's a pretty nice 686. I've seen a few at LGS and they have been selling around the $750 mark depending on condition. So, what are you waiting for especially if the S/N comes back to your son's birth year. That would be a great gift or one to pass down!
