First - thanks to the sticky thread poster who saved my bacon when the little mousetrap spring that applies pressure to the hand in my 686 went AWOL. Couldn't have done it without you!

Next - a Wolff standard spring kit and 15lb trigger return spring work and fit great. Followed the Miculek action job video carefully and the end result is a much improved double-action feel and response.

Maybe not as good as a real revolver-smith could do or on par with the Performance Center, but plenty good for a carry gun!

Jerry's tape is one of the best investments a home gunsmith can have. I've looked at it quite often and have learned a lot from it.

Glad your action job came out well. Now dry fire it a few thousand times to really smooth it out and TAKE IT TO THE RANGE.

Find the load that works best and stick with it. With the right ammo my 686 will shoot 1 - 1.5 inch groups off the bench when I do everything right. Try to find a load that groups 2 inches and you are in the money.
