Got my 2 1/2'' no dash 686 back from S&W after the recall mod. and the fitting of a new 7 shot cylinder. ( free shipping on S&W both ways ) Finally got to the range today. The accuracy is amazing. It shoots one ragged hole groups at 50' off a rest. With Pachmayr Compacs recoil is negligible with .38s and very manageable with factory .357 Mags. ( they DO light up the port on the indoor range, however ) I will be carrying this with my 642 as a BUG, as an alternative to my full size 1911 on occasion in the future. I'm a happy camper........

What was the cost of the seven shot cylinder install? Been thinking of that one myself.

as would I. Mine is a no-dash without them "M" and if I'm going to send it back may as well make it worth my while.

Thanks for the info Joe. I agree.....very fair price for that job.
