Hi everybody!

I would like to know the difference between a normal 686 and this Target Champion.

What I can see: hammer, trigger and stocks (maybe the differences are only those!).

Thanks!

Aside from the stocks and the flash-chromed target trigger and hammer, it looks exactly like my no-dash 6" 686 with factory stocks and color-casehardened target trigger and hammer.

I thought those guns had unfluted cylinders and some special rollmarking on the barrel but I could be thinking of another special version.

It is mentioned in the S & W reference book, product code 104268, but no details mentioned aside from the sideplate laser engraving. The stocks look to be made by Karl Nill from Germany.

There are a few Europe-only export models, including a 617 Target Champion which is very different from a standard model. A "Search Site/Google" search should find you photos of these.

Looks like there is a different finish from the frame to the barrel. It could just be the lighting?

Here is my 617 target Champion shown from both sides and back view i hope this helps you

The stocks on the posters 686 are wow! I can't see any side plate engraving on the 686, it could be the lighting but the 686 side plate seems to be a different hue.
