Hi guys. I bought a 686-4 with rubber Hogue monogrip. Would this have been on it when it was made or would it have been made and shipped with wood target stocks?

Thanks Todd, it came with a blue plastic S&W box with no label and no paperwork

I had a 686-4 2 1/2 inch bbl and it came with Hogue rubber grips. Just curious what barrel length your revolver is?

Smith transitioned from square butt to round butt in the dash 4. I have dash 4’s with wood grips and some with rubber Hogues. If it’s a square butt, it prolly came with wood grips, round butt prolly came with rubbers.

My 686-4 with 4" barrel came with round butt and rubber stocks. It is back at S&W right now because the trigger stopped resetting as it should.
I removed the rubber grips and installed Miculek wood grips, (or however you spell it).

In my opinion it should be wearing whatever grips/ stocks are the most comfortable for you. Just hang on to originals. Bob
