69 sights

I just bought a new Model 69. With my preferred reduced power 44 mag load (that I use in my 629 Classic) it shoots high at 50 feet with the rear sight adjusted all the way down. Does anyone know where I can get a higher front sight, preferable a light pipe type? PS; This is a great weapon.

The solution to this is not a higher front sight, but a lower rear sight slide. This is why S&W makes these in several different heights! It amazes me how many, including the last poster do not understand this. If you want a "fiber-optic" style sight this is another issue altogether.

Also, you did not say what weight bullets you are shooting. The standard sight set is intended to work with "standard-for-caliber" weight bullets, 240 gr. in the case of .44 Magnum, although it doesn't always work right. Heavier bullets shoot higher, often exceeding the range of adjustment for the standard sights. Likewise light-for-caliber bullets will shoot lower and may require a higher rear sight slide.
