hey guys. don't know as much about steel frame semis as much as I do their revolvers...I'm a young buck so didn't have access to them in their heyday. ....I can't find a 6906 local and I'm trying to get an idea of grip size before I drive to look at one.....I'm wondering how grip eidth/circumference compares to an M@P with medium back strap? I like the small backstrap but I'm comfortable with the medium. just trying to get a rough idea if it will work for me...also I've heard you can get a curved grip that makes the 3rd gens a little more ergonomic? thanks in advance for any info guys! :)

It's been a while since I had a M&P9c, but my recollection is that I used the medium back strap. My 6906 has the Hogue grips and the fit is perfect for my hand.

The Hogue grips are thicker than the factory Delrin and a bit stickier as well.

I don't know if any of that helps to answer your question, but I thought I'd mention it.

Also, FWIW, I sold my M&P9c and used the money to buy a 6906. I think it's better built, more reliable, more accurate, and more comfortable to shoot.

that's exactly what I'm looking for. also curious about length of pull...thank you so much!

The first shot trigger pull is longer because the first shot is double action. After that reset is good and I find the trigger pull for single action fine. Other disagree and I know that some people have spent time and effort working to improve that.

Living in MA, the trigger pull for the M&P guns out of the box was pretty bad. I bought mine used from a private party and he'd spent some money to have the trigger pull improved. I still prefer the 3rd Gen trigger pull.

My experience has been different between the two. I have a M&P9C with the medium backstrap that fits and shoots great. I also have a 4013TSW with factory and hogue grip. With the factory grip it feels ok but still too big and with the Hogue significantly too big. I believe the 6906 and 4013TSW grip size are the same.

I measure the position of my thumb on my 6906 and it is 1.75 inches from the clip release to where your thumb turns behind the grips.
When griped my thumb rest on the clip release button. I have long but thin fingers and the gun with factory grips fit me. If you have large fingers you may have trouble three fingers on the grip. Hope this helps.
