What do you think...anybody carry one? I'm waiting on the slow SC process for my permit and just picked up a 6906 and I'm already thinking about it for a carry gun. Thanks in advance.

They're good guns and they're completely reliable. Don't know your required dress mode. The 6900-series is somewhat thick, and I find it "carries" larger than the otherwise-same-sized 3913. Smaller guns exist (even double-stack ones), and I generally find I need to use them with business clothes. For me, with clothing that is bulky enough to make the 6906 easy to conceal, I find I can easily also conceal something bigger (like a full-size gun).

I would never suggest that this isn't a perfectly wonderful carry gun, it's just that the thickness and size may present an issue for you. Why not try this: wear the gun (unloaded, sans holster if you don't have one) around your house while you await your license (provided that such is legal where you live  ) and see how it works out for you doing the sorts of things you would be doing dressed in the clothing you would be ordinarily wearing with it. That will give you a better idea of whether the gun will work for you as a carry piece.

Don't let anyone tell you that it's not suitable for such use, though: that's a great pistol. :)

I am a very skinny person and I found my fullsize sw99 conceals perfectly at my 4:00 with a IWB double snap from sideguard holsters with a 15 deg cant underneath a large t-shirt

100% reliable 3rd gen S&W auto. A 6906 is my main carry piece this time of year in sunny Arizona.

YES on 6906

Dad's 6906 is VERY close in size to my M&P40c carry gun. The 6906 is about 1/4in longer, 3/8in taller (with finger extensions), but is thinner in the slide and frame (where it really counts).

Overall I think it is a fairly comparble carry gun. Knowing it's reputation and performance I would have to say strap it on and don't think twice. Incidentally, it seems to fit my holster pretty well... I may have an idea...:D

My 6946 was my first carry gun and one I still carry every once in a while.

I will never sell it and trust it completely.

My 6906 is a bit heavy times and harder to conceal, mostly in summer months. It's nice having 13 rounds , but I went with a model 442 for my daily carry. Less anxiety dealing with that stuff. The 6906 is my first choice for home defense . It has never fail once since 1985 . Good luck with your conceal and carry.
