I picked up another 696-1 yesterday. I really don't need two, but the first one I bought was unfired in the Box and I've never brought myself to shoot it. The one I bought yesterday is in great condition (95%), but it looks like somebody fired a box or so of ammo through it. I will shoot this gun and probably carry it some.
The just bought 696 has a 15 pound double action trigger pull on it. I changed out the trigger rebound spring and the main spring and now it down to a livable 8/9 pound trigger pull.
So much for a new 696, the Serial # is CCP80XX.
Who know, with a Serial Number starting with CCP maybe it was manufactored in Russia.
