Bought this 696 no-dash 2 weeks ago at a local gun show. Bought a CA BulldogPug 44 Special, two years ago, while very accurate, the quality is just not there. So have been looking for a Taurus or a Rossi 44 special to replace the pug for a carry gun.Came upon this Smith and while looking it over,a fellow behind me said it was a good deal.Said he owns one and they are fun to shoot. Well after walking the show and seeing nothing else of interest,I went back and managed to get the seller to drop $50 off the price, seeing the grips were not factory and there was no box.So walked out the door with a new revolver for $550,feeling I did OK.This is the same way,I found my favorite daily carry gun,a S&W model 940. Blind luck! It came with the original adjustable rear sight. I installed the Cylinder&Slide Extreme Duty fixed rear sight.

Some people have all the luck, and today it looks like it was yours, hope you enjoy it, because it has me

congrats.... I came upon the same situation in March... a 696 no dash sat at a gun show all day and the owner said that it sat at many gun shows prior without any interests... so I got it for about the sme price.... great guns...

Congratulations! You got a nice one at a great price! I love that rear sight and the grips. I bought the only one I have ever seen for sale two years ago at a pawn shop. It's a No-Dash also.

Thanks, the grips are made and sold by a fellow, here in Indiana.First class, wood, fit and finnish.Five of my Smiths wear them.He goes by CLIPS-N-GRIPS on EBAY.See, there is more than corn,in Indiana.

Congratulations on the deal of the day. I like the grips and sight! What's that old saying....it's better to be lucky than good!
