I stopped at a pawn shop that usually has some interesting things at times. Well last week someone here said "be sure to check the bottom shelf". When I looked down there I saw a S&W pistol. When asked, she handed me a S&W 908 in outstanding condition. I looked it over and made an OTD offer. Of course she declined my offer. She said, how about $350 OTD? I offered her a little less and she said "you know someone will come in here today and buy this for that price". So I relented and said "I guess that person will be me". It appears to be as new as it can be. No marks anywhere on the gun or the mag. No doc's or box came with it but I think I did OK.

I just called S&W and they said it was made July 1997. How in the world does a pistol go almost 18 years without someone shooting it? That will end tomorrow.

That is beyond my reasoning. Glad to hear you will be using it for what it was made for!

I really like the 908. My LGS has one that has seen a lot of carry but doesn't appear to have been fired much. They want a little north of $300 and I can't negotiate a lower price so I passed. Oh and it doesn't come with any magazines.
You have a nice gun, they are well thought of on this forum.

There is a very nice one at one of my local dealers for $400. If I wasn't so damn broke right now, I'd go for it!

That's a great price for an unfired 908. I bought mine new in 1999 for $389, plus all the other tax, license, etc.

I finally had time to go to the range with the 908. I fire 200 rds. through it. Federal +p hard ball, softball, WC and Precision Delta HP, all were 124gr. All fired and ejected without any problems, and accuracy was good also. I think I'm going to like this one for CC. Wow, what can you buy today for that price?

You'd be surprised how many people buy handguns and just leave them in the sock drawer or safe without firing at all, or very little. Nowngo give that 908 a workout!

You did great. Nice catch. I gotta shoot mine more often, but I keep playing with my revolvers now that I'm reloading .38 special. Got the stuff for 9mm but not the time to reload.
