I bought a 908s at a local auction a while back. The frame was completely dissassembled and all the parts were in a plastic bag. At first glance it looked like everything was there, but turned out it was missing the disconnector. The sights and grip were a bit banged up like the gun had been dropped. So I ordered a new disconnector, new sights, a new recoil spring and guide rod, new grips and a spare mag. Still have just under $300 in the gun.
Had a hard time installing the front sight...that little metal insert keeps popping out. I finally tried installing it without the metal insert....much easier, but I wondered if it would stay in place when the gun was fired. I took it to the range yesterday and put 50+ rounds thru it and the front sight never budged. Anyone know the purpose of the little metal insert on the front sight? Seems like it would work better if it was all solid plastic like the rear sight.
