915 magazines

A friend has a 915 that he wants to give to his grandson, who lives in a state with a 10-round limit. Do I understand correctly that 3rd Gen 10 round mags in the 59 series are correct for this pistol?

915 mags

Mec-gar makes 10 round magazines for the 5900 series pistols also. They make them in blue steel and nickel, and they enjoy a well deserved reputation as being a top quality manufacturer of OEM and after market magazines. They are readily available and (around here anyway)about half the price of new S&W magazines. The 915 is a great handgun by the way.

I’m in NJ which recently changed from a 15 round limit to 10. I have a 5906TSW, which takes the same mags as the 915. I have a few pinned 15 rounders, one S&W 10 rounder, and a bunch of Mec-Gar 10 rounders. The Mec-Gars are G2G - cheap and reliable. I recommend them highly. I also have Mec-Gar 10 round mags for my Sig P226 and my 9mm 1911 - can’t go wrong!

Thanks all. I passed that along to him. The 915 was his gateway gun to handgunning and the young man loves it.
