Is the s&w 915 a 2nd gen or 3rd? And what are your opinions of their reliability and accuracy?

They are a great gun. They are not a 2nd or 3rd gen so they could be called 4th gen. Just guessing, someone will come alone and answer it for you. Best of luck.

3rd generation---mebbe 3.1.

It is a Third Gen value line series gun. It should be as reliable and accurate as any other Third Gen gun.

I have a 910.... which is the same except for it coming with a 10rnd mag during the gun restriction years.... but does accept the 15 rnd mag. Mine has been flawless in operation, eats anything, and has been very accurate. The only thing I swapped out was the plastic guide rod for a metal one. ( just my preference)
