BTW, our reloading dies do not size used brass down to factory dimensions down near the case head. The shell holder prevents this. So some reloads may not fit in some chambers.

I use Lee Undersized dies in 9mm, 380, .45 and .32/7.65 auto. Brass has gotten thinner over the years. Ammo manufacturers are not interested in us reloaders. US manufactured .32 ACP uses 312 bullets, most European stull is loaded hotter with closer to .308 bullets, their brass is thicker. trying to stuff .312 bullets into cases that had .308 bullets is a real PIA and some cases will bulge to the point of not chambering. Loading everything with .308 bullets and undersized brass cures this. Same for some brands of 9mm brass in my match chambered guns. Sized with undersized Dies let's most, not all, chamber. Magtech brass is a PIA with heavy 9mm bullets.

I'm open to suggestions, but I'm not sure what to do. I only know and like the Model 940 and Ruger LCR (with an honorable mention for Ruger SP101). So, I don't know what else is out there. People were asking for some pretty crazy stuff, like a version for the Model 625 in .45 ACP. That's going to be quite chunky... One other thing: making one that works well absolutely requires a gun. I cannot go off measurements. If the gun is $600, I need to sell 150 units of existing models to pay for it.

Have you considered other colors? The user could carry standard loads in black and +P loads in red, for example.

I thought about colors, but unfortunately, Fraurem speedloaders can only be made with PA12-CF10, which only comes in black. A complete material research cycle is necessary in order to qualify a design using something like PA6-GF, which can be colored. I'm considering various compromises, like making a color shield, but keeping the core black. Or maybe a color band that's glued as an applique.

P.S. No matter how you slice it, the cost will go up. The 3FDX is the only source of color PA that I trust and they are at least 2x more expensive than NylonX.

The other 9mm revolvers out there may or may not have as many potential customers for you to make it worthwhile. Right off the top of my head, Taurus makes the 905 (EDIT: which a re-read of this thread shows you have one already.) I have one, and the biggest difference is the shape of the center hole on the moon clip. (...) I believe Charter Arms also makes one, but I've never seen one in person.

Their older "Pitbull" line are clipless. These are what Charter are known for. However, they introduced a "Coyote" line recently that utilizes moon clips.

My 940 is back at the Mothership. That hitch at the end of the trigger stroke turned into a hard stop, at the range the other other night.
The point of the 'hitch' ensuring longer service life is well taken, but all of my Smiths roll straight through, including a 640-1, which came out remarkably well for an MIM gun. A buddy likes to 'stage' his revo triggers, but I prefer to roll straight through.
We'll see how it comes back.

The answer is, "not fixed".
I got in and took a fine file to the ratchets, and now it rolls through just fine.
But I shouldn't have had to fix it myself. Guessing there aren't too many real pistolsmiths at Smith these days.
