I put a few rounds together using 231 with info from the Winchester site
and will see how they function.
The 95gr FMJs are from an old stash (350+) when I had a colt mustang, figured the way components availability is non existent why not give the 95s a whirl going to try them in a Beretta 92 and a P30.
As an experiment I put together some 90gr XTP at 1250 fps but they only have a power factor of 112 so it was something I decided wasn't very useful in the 9mm for anything other than playing around.
I could not get the Hornady 100 gr jacket bullet to group with Bullseye or Unique, may years ago, so did not see the need to try even a lighter bullet in my 9mm auto.
Range update
The light rounds did not function the slide, So I will work up a few more on the more potent side!
These 95grFMJs are just for punching paper and plinking,
I've never tried such a light bullet in 9mm but use a 95gHP in .380 with great success. The .380 is the only caliber I find myself stretching the envelope on load data to get the performance that factory SD loads deliver. I can imagine using a 95g bullet in 9mm would require a fair amount of powder.
I shoot 95gr Montana Gold JHP out of my 3913 (7.2gr AA#5) for 1247FPS with good results. I get over 1700 FPS with (11.0 gr AA#5) out of my Springfield XDM with 357sig conversion barrel and 1664 FPS out of my 357sig M&P.
