9mm ammo

If your having as much trouble finding 9mm locally as I am we stopped by gander mountain today and they had 350rd boxes for $119. Not a great price for blazer brass 115 grain but its not horrible either and I've had good luck with it. Also picked up 2 of the 17rd mags. They had plenty of both in stock. They also had a special on some othe 9 bulk with a mail in rebate but were out. Happy to find what I did and thought I'd share. Mags were $39.99.

My best success was ordering 1000 rounds of 9mm from FreedomMunitions, which starts at $.26 a round in a box of 50 and goes down in larger lots (there are also shipping charges, but no tax).

Ordering in bulk just works out better than buying a box or two at a time from Wal-Mart (when they are in stock at Wal-Mart!).

It is probably reasonable to have a year's worth of ammo on hand. Just my opinion, yours might vary.

Not sure where you're seeing that. Neither their web site or gunbot lists this ammo.

Been using the Walmart Iphone app to search for ammo from time to time lately.



Was rewarded by finding some Federal Champion 115 FMJ at $14.77 a box of 50 ($0.295/round) last week at a store here in Tampa:

I've burned through 3000+ rounds of the 115gr remanufactured ammo with my 9fs with no problems. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

I'm looking at their 500 rounds of New and even with Tax (They're outside Houston, TX) & shipping, it still comes down to the equivalent of $15/50 Round Box. Their Reman would make it cheaper than WWB (Value Packs).

You don't happen to have any 'Coupon Codes' for them, do you?

Yes, happy with the ammo. The cases are made in Turkey and bear the headstamp "Ammoland." The ammo is loaded in the US at Freedom Munitions' plant. It is uniformly good stuff.

The cases have an extra band of brass inside the case, around the webbing. I suspect this is because the same cases are loaded for SMG ammo at higher pressures, e.g., in Turkey perhaps? That's my theory. I
reload and checked these by depriming them and resizing them after firing some, and see no problems. However, for reloading, the space inside the case is a little smaller than usual, which means powder that just about fills the case at regular loadings -- Unique, for example -- might end up being compressed a bit, with possible untoward effects. If you do not reload, this does not matter.

I picked up some WWB for $14.99/50 rounds at Academy sports, which was only $1.00 more than Russian made Monarch. The Wally Worlds in my area never have any 9MM.

I ordered 500 'New' on Monday, it was processed by Tues and picked up by UPS (from the Spokane plant) on Weds.
Projected delivery is slated as Next Tues the 25th. Not bad.

If the 'new' runs as well as reported, I'll probably try the 'Reman' next time.

I use an older REDDING Turret press. Once I sit down to do it, maybe 30 minutes. I also load the nine for both my sons. Being retired, time isn't a factor for me. I try and keep ahead so I never get caught short. Oh yes, powder is worked with a CHARGEMASTER --
