9mm and 45 size

Are the full size 9mm and 45 M&P the same size? I am looking into buying a Safariland 6378 holster and am wondering if I really need to buy two holsters or if both guns will fit in one.

Safariland lists two different holsters for the PX4 9mm and 45, but both pistols fit in the same holster. Just wondering if it's the same way for the M&P.

I know nothing about that holster but in most cases the 45 is bigger. Not much bigger, but it is bigger.

My M&P 45 will not fit in my Fobus paddle holster that is for my M&P9. But it will fit in a custom leather holster for an M&P9.

I forgot that the 45 barrel is slightly longer. Guess I will have to buy two holsters.
