I haven't been to a gun show in awhile, so 'just wondering...what is the typical current cost of 1000 rounds of 9mm 115 gr FMJ...in say, ...a Magtech? or S&B?, or Winchester white box?

If anyone knows what the range of prices are lately... specifically at a gunshow, please let me know what to expect.

Is it cheaper than ordering online?...or about the same?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've never had good luck finding cheap, quality ammunition at gun shows. You have to be careful because a lot of reloads are being sold as factory. The vast majority of "kabooms" I've heard of have come from gunshow reloads or mislabeled powder.

I buy mostly at my local WalMart if I'm not shooting my own reloads.

Was still fairly high at the last show here in charleston. I order nearly all of mine online, and often find it where I can get it for anywhere from 26-28 cents per round delivered for new. Brass cased.

You can do even better if you don't mind factory remanufactured, like from Freedom. I buy from them all the time for 9 and 38. I often land Freedom 9 mm around 24-25 cents delivered. Again, brass.

If you are into steel cased, you can often even do better than that! But I stick to brass.

Also, Freedom has a brass credit program, where you can send them your fired brass, at your expense, and they will credit your order. It's a good deal.

Based on a very limited survey by casual acquaintances prices at the various shows run higher than Gander Mtn. Georgia Arms reloads are still reasonable, but have their ups and downs, get it from the factory at shows not secondary dealers (per a suspicious Quality Assurance Specialist of my acquaintance.)

Who is going to one next month..it's my turn.

In all the KS gun shows I've had not much luck in cheap bulk 9mm ammo.

Most boxes of 50 9mm FMJ rounds were selling for anywhere between $10-$15 per box last time I checked.

There is no such thing as cheap ammo anymore. Its gone. Those days are memories and todays prices will be memories soon. CF ammo has recovered and the prices continue to increase. There is another shortage just down the road so pack it in now before you get caught again. Buy 2 boxes for every box you plan to shoot. Shoot one stash the other should be ou mantra.

Exact reasoning why there was a shortage of ammo. It's funny how I keep seeing ammo get cheaper everyday now.

Thats funny because all I see are continued price increases like a $2 increase on WWB 100 count 45ACP and a $1 increase on WWB 100 count 9mm. I haven't seen anything drop in price.

I'm seeing increases, but at Wally World, latest in my area is:

50 Federal 9 115gr FMJ - $13.77
100 Federal 9 115gr FMJ ~ $26
100 WWB 9 115 gr FMJ ~ $27

Academy had a lot at about .75 more than WW for WWB 100 but was sold in two days. Their Monarch steel case 50 9 115gr is about $11.

The 250 9 115gr Rem UMC was $68 at WW, $79 at Gander Mtn.($59 today and tomorrow for a store opening sale).

Cabelas seems to have gone up across the board, and they had to create another aisle for all the CF rifle ammo, but still little 22.

I just bought 500 rounds of 115 gr 9MM factory loaded ammo from the Georgia Arms booth at a gun show today. It was $130.00 plus tax (26 cents per bullet not including tax). I definitely would not call it the best deal ever, but for the prices I saw there, it was the best deal today. I don't like buying ammo online ( I will if it is a GREAT deal and from someone I am familiar with) and friends of mine shoot Georgia Arms ammo at the range all of the time without issue. I will know more after I feed it through my Shield.

Like mentioned, if you are buying Georgia Arms ammo, make sure it is directly from them at a gun show or at their store(s). I don't think I would buy it through a third party, just to be on the safe side.

I've attended a few Kansas or Kansas City, MO gun shows the past year and I've checked prices on 9mm and it's closer to $15 per box of 50 for steel case ammo and closer to $20 per box of 50 for brass case ammo.

SGAmmo has Speer Lawman 115 grain FMJ 9 mm for $239 per thousand plus $16 shipping. They have other brands at slightly higher prices. That's about 20% less than a few months ago and supplies are much better with no quantity limits. Also, I've been buying ammo and reloading supplies for 50 years now and prices are lower now on an inflation adjusted basis than they were in 1964!

magtech

Just got 450 rounds for 110.00$ shipped from Sportsmans guide. Free shipping now and then if you join.
Never had a problem with magtech.
Wally world is up to 14 bucks and change round here
