9mm input needed

My Glock was a fantastic daily carry gun for more than 7 years and I still keep it in the event I need to call on it, but have since moved on to other heartless, soulless Tupperware.

BHP has a better trigger than my one Glock, if that helps you any. I also bet that I could pull 25 or more pistols from my safe with a better trigger than any stick BHP ever sold, shipped or issued. And yeah, most of them would say SMITH & WESSON on them.

Oh, and let us never forget, Mr. Bam, that -one- of those 25+ would be the Performance Center SD-9, better pistol as-shipped than a BHP with a thousand bucks of work in it.

A Browning HP........ may not be the best target pistol in the world...... but it feels great in the hand ... points well and is a great combat pistol......................... SAS issue for 40+ years............... given a choice a BHP or 1911..... I'd go BHP Mk III

Wow so many ideas, were to begin. Sorting through all of this I see that the basic choice seems to be between the CCW type pistols vs the full size. With all due respect to Mr. Bam-bam, I am not so well heeled as to be able to partake in the limited production catagory . As to the BHP adherents well, nice gun, wonderful history and cool as heck but it has one failing...it's not an S&W. I think my choice boils down to the fullsize, service types. The choice of finish, either the dark side or stainless is a quandry as I enjoy both. So here I am, crossroads at the 59/5906/915 or the 39/3906/639. I am ok with any of these, but will most probably get whichever one comes along first given a good deal. Truely the 5906 has a slight lead. If the only critria was just 9mm to carry, I would get an M&P 2.0 and call it a day, but I wanted something with, as many of you have pointed out, "a soul". So there you have it, the search begins.

Alloy framed all metal gun. Lighter than the 5906/05 all steel guns but same 17 + 1 capacity with aftermarket mags.

Of course for carry the 39xx series is the best.

Just thought I'd ask .....so the options weren't overlooked! Why have a V-8 when you "could have had a" Bloody Mary!

Indeed, I do have one of the other 179.
But I don't think it would be right to attempt to "one up ya," as I believe I would end up winning this match... only to surely have another PC guy come in to the thread and drop me "like 3rd period French"

2nd that! BHP isn't bad for a target pistol...even WITHOUT any work done on it. MkIII fired at 10 yds...

digiroc, That ceracoated 915 is sweet! Where did those stocks come from?

The stocks were an eBay find. I bought them because I thought they'd look good on the tan paint job.

I started looking for a 915 as a carry gun and came up with the ceracoated model with dead night sights. I sent the slide to Trigicon to be re-lamped and found the other 915 at a LGS with adjustable sights.

I swapped slides and put the adjustables on the ceracoated 915 to make it a range gun.

A 6906 is the compact version of the 5906...... 3.5" barrel vs 4" and the 6906 is 12+1 vs 15+1 for the 5906.

Oh ya; the 5906 has a stainless steel frame vs alloy for the 6906

5946 and 6946 DAO versions ...

The DAO model 5946 and 6946 models with slides swapped making a long slide 6946 and short slide 5946.

I like DAO guns for carry, one less thing to go wrong and very revolver-like to shoot.
